Original Artwork Framing

Conservation Framing

Conservation framing aims to protect longevity while enhancing the beauty of a piece of art. Specialist methods, materials and reversible techniques are designed to preserve artwork while ensuring that the artwork can be released, if necessary, from the framing with minimal material damage.

Here at Homestead, we recommend acid-free matt board and backings to help prevent foxing & discolouration. We also offer a range of conservation glass to further help protect your artwork or photograph from the damage from the sun and other harmful lights.

We also offer restoration for previously damaged or aged work.

Embroidery & Needlework Framing

All embroidery and needlework are framed slightly different to any framing job. The Homestead team will help you decide on a frame that best matches your stitching work and décor and take you through the framing process. We also offer a range of glass types to further help protect your embroidery or needlework piece from damage from the sun and other harmful lights.

Homestead is an approved framer by ANZEG (The Association of New Zealand Embroiderers’ Guilds Inc) and we have an inhouse needlework expert on hand to discuss any questions you may have about framing your particular piece.

Specialist Medal Framing

Old war medals… service medals… marathon medals…. medal framing is now ever so popular. Here at Homestead, we use box frames to set your medals into the frame to create enough depth for the glass to be raised. Mounts are then designed to your exact medal sizes with mount detailing making it bespoke to you and your medals. Add our specialist glass with UV protection for a truly unique framing job.

For a great contemporary look sometimes an acrylic box frame is the only option, providing 360-degree viewing of any object whilst still ensuring its safety and providing a contemporary aesthetic.
